FURNACE/HEATER
Delivers unsurpassed warmth, costing less to operate than an electric heat pump.
WATER HEATER
STORAGE (TANK) WATER HEATERS
By far the most common type of water heater used — water is kept hot and ready for use at all times in insulated storage tanks. Depending on your needs, a storage water heater may be the best value for your home, especially if you only use a moderate amount of hot water. The average life expectancy of a storage water heater is 8-10 years.
TANKLESS WATER HEATERS
Often called "on demand" water heaters, tankless water heaters only heat water as needed, providing access to a continuous energy-efficient hot water supply. If you home has higher hot water demands — this may be the water heater for you. Although the initial investment is greater, a tankless water heater uses less energy over time while saving space. Plus, the average life expectancy of a tankless water heater is 20 years or more.
FIREPLACE
Safe, convenient and easy to use. Much cleaner and up to 99% efficient compared to wood.
STOVETOP/OVEN
Cook meals quicker, easier and more affordably with instant, precise temperature control and even heat distribution.
DRYER
Natural gas clothes dryers use less energy to dry clothes fast. Dry two loads of laundry for the same cost as drying one in an electric dryer.
METER
The meter outside your home or business measures how much natural gas is used each month. Learn more about protecting natural gas meters during the winter season at www.swgas.com/snow-safety.
PIPELINE
MAIN LINE
Natural gas infrastructure servicing your neighborhood.
SERVICE LINE
Connects the main line to the natural gas meter.
HOUSE LINE
Provides natural gas to various appliances in your home.
DIGGING?
Every digging job requires a call to 811 before you dig — even small projects like planting trees or shrubs. Whether you are a homeowner or a professional excavator, one call to 811 before you dig gets underground utility-owned lines marked for FREE.
